434,794. Radiator caps. SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON, 35, Rue Malakoff, AsniÞres, Seine, France. Dec. 5, 1933, No. 34198. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 6, 1934]. [Class 125 (iii)] A radiator cap on which the top is preferably stream-lined and which is operated in a manner used in the " picker-jar " type of closure, comprises a head 6 and an elastic annular member 3 which is compressed on operating the head 6 of a screwed stem 5 which is rigidly attached thereto. On compressing the member 3, it is expanded radially into engagement with the neck 1 of the radiator. A collar 4 is drawn towards or moved away from the head 6 when the head is rotated. A lug 9 on a collar 7 prevents relative rotation and a split-ring 11 prevents the loss of the members 4, 3 and 7 when the cap is manipulated.
