Abstract
424,579. Siphon heads. EUGSTER, E. J. P., Barnsbury Works, Barnsbury Street, Barnsbury, London. Aug. 23, 1933, No. 23486. [Class 14 (i)] In siphon heads for mineral-water bottles, the body 1, discharge spout 12, and internal partitions 6, 10 are formed from cupro-nickel or other suitable sheet metal blanks or tubes so that the elements can be assembled to form the head, the removable cap 5 of which is adapted to form a guide for the head of the valve spindle 8 so as to secure accurate alignment of the valve 9 with its seating 9<a>, while the split-neck ring 21 by which the siphon head is secured to the bottle may also be formed from a cupro-nickel or other suitable metal blank, and is formed with an internal soft metal or other suitable packing 22 so as to prevent injury to the neck of the bottle. The cap 5 is so constructed that the inner end 5<c> thereof serves as an abutment for the inner end 19<b> of the valve operating lever 19 which pivots on a fulcrum pin 18.
