411,579. Closures for petrol tanks. WESTWOOD, S. C., Somersby, Petersfield Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, and WESTWOOD, H. B., Grimes Hill, near Birmingham. Jan. 18, 1933, No. 1647. [Class 125 (iii).] Relates to closures for the filling-apertures of petrol tanks &c. of the type having a spring arranged within the neck of the aperture, and a hook-like coupling which lies over one side of the neck in the open position. According to the invention the spring f is provided with a sleeve e to which the hook-like member c is pivotally connected. The inner end of the member e projects as shown and protects the sleeve from injury by objects inserted into the neck of the tank.
