Abstract

430,162. Radiator caps. WESTWOOD, S. C., Somersby, Petersfield Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, and WESTWOOD, H. B., Grimes Hill, near Birmingham. Dec. 8, 1933, No. 34571. [Class 125 (iii)] A radiator cap a has flanges b, and a central projection g to which a rubber &c. washer d is secured so that an air space f is provided behind the washer so that it can yield when pressed against the seating c. The washer may have a central flange and abut the underside of the cap. Alternatively the washer may be supported by a metal spring. The cap may be rotatably hinged to the neck c on a ring. Lugs k on the interior of the neck cooperate with a plate h which has inclined faces leading to locking recesses thereon. The bayonet-jointing means may be provided on the exterior of the neck c.
