427,141. Licence-holders for motor vehicles. TRAFFORD, A., 390, New John Street West, Birmingham. March 19, 1934, No. 8499. [Class 73] A licence-holder for use on motor vehicles, of the kind comprising the combination of an annular member adapted to receive the licence and to be secured to the inner face of the windscreen or other transparent panel of the vehicle, and a cover plate adapted to be secured to and detached from the annular member, is characterized in that the annular member is provided with a bar or strap-like part, preferably diametrically disposed, and adapted to coact with means on the cover plate to secure the two parts of the holder together in a manner permitting of the ready detachment of the cover plate. As shown the strap-like member 5<b> is formed integrally with the annular member and depressed rearwardly therefrom, and is formed with a slot 5d adapted to engage with the head 7<c> of a projection 7<a> fixed to the domed cover plate 7, the parts being locked together by rotating the cover plate through a quarter of a revolution. The strap 5<b> is formed at the part containing the slot 5d with depressions or channels 5<e> to facilitate the locking operation. In a modification, the strap-like member is provided with a rearwardly-projecting screw pin instead of the slot, and this pin co-operates with a screw box rotatably mounted in the centre of the cover plate. According to the Provisional Specification, the screw pin may be carried by the cover plate.
