Abstract

431,175. Controlling motor vehicles. MONEY, G. T., South Creake, Fakenham, Norfolk. Sept. 11, 1934, No. 26031. [Class 79 (v)] The brakes and throttle are regulated inversely by progressive movement of a single pedal which closes the throttle as the brakes are applied. The pedal comprises a brake arm or lever G and a sleeve E slidable on the arm and connected to the throttle, the arm and the sleeve being controlled by separate springs and a spring buffer F being provided in the throttle connection to permit the braking movement of the pedal. In the construction shown the brake arm is controlled by the usual " take-off " spring O, and the sleeve E is connected by a spring link M to the throttle D which is normally opened by a spring C. A hand lever A is connected by a link B to the spring C and is used to adjust the maximum opening position of the throttle.
