Convention date, Feb. 16, 1933. Addition to 389,813. [Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv)] [See also Group XL] The arrangement described in the parent Specification for generating momentary high voltages by charging a number of condensers in parallel through resistances, and then discharging them in series through sparkgaps, is characterized by the provision, in addition to those spark-gaps which are normally operated in compressed gas, of one or more other spark-gaps open to ordinary atmospheric pressure. The latter serve to initiate a migrating wave which ensures a simultaneous discharge of all the gaps.
