[Class 38 (iv).] An impulse generator employing the discharge in series of condensers charged in parallel comprises an oil or compound-filled cylinder a made of insulating material and containing the condensers c<1> . . c<2> mounted in superposition, and carrying the spark gaps b<1> .. b<2> and blocking resistances d<1> .. d<9> and d2 .. d<10> mounted in tiers on its outer surface.
