Abstract
401,738. Discharge apparatus. ALLIBONE, T. E., Senlac, Norman Road, Sale, Cheshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. May 20, 1932, No. 14340. [Class 39 (i).] Graded high potentials in phase are applied to the sections of a cascaded discharge tube, such as a cathode-ray tube, by an impulse generator consisting of a number of groups of condensers, high resistances, and spark-gaps, for example as described in Specifications 344,862 and 401,737. As shown, a tube having a cathode M and a window P is formed of insulating sections t1 . tn, separated by conducting members G1 .. Gn, which may carry accelerating tubes or plates g. The generator consists of spark-gaps, F1 .. F4, resistances W1 . . Wm and condensers C1 .. Cn., the low potential leads D, E being connected with the spark-gap F1, and connections being made from the condensers with the members G1 .. Gn. The lead E may be earthed.
