Abstract
306,034. Germershausen, W. Feb. 14, 1928, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-To prevent discharge between the anodes a<1>, a<2> of rectifying-tubes, conducting screens s<1>, s<2> are placed as closely as possible to them and are connected together electrically, and they may be connected through a high resistance to the cathode k; by this arrangement an equipotential field is produced over substantially the whole space between the anodes, and the lines of force from the anodes run along the boundary surfaces of the equipotential field and there end. The screen may be in the form of discs, as shown in Fig. 1, or of bodies that partially envelope the anodes, as shown in Fig. 3.
