Abstract

575,027. Discharge apparatus. BROADWAY, L. F., and CAIRNS, J. E. I. Aug. 8, 1941, No. 10106. [Class 39 (i)] To locate correctly the electrodes of a discharge device using a hollow resonator in a vitreous envelope, the latter is formed with protrusions 17 as described in Specification 507,840 and a mandrel 21 is used resting on these protrusions to hold the metal discs 8 while they are sealed to the three parts 14, 15, 16 of the envelope. The mandrel is then withdrawn and the electron gun 3 and collector 10 are supported from the two sets of protrusions by mica spacers.
