Abstract
422,351. Safety razors. TELEPHONAPPARAT-FABRIK E. ZWIETUSCH & CO. GES., 6, Salzufer, Charlottenburg, Berlin. July 10, 1933, No. 19512. Convention date, March 6. [Class 30] In a safety razor having an electrically-reciprocated blade 5, both the rotary motor driving-unit 2 and the source of electrical energy therefor are contained in the razor handle. The source of energy is one or more flash-lamp batteries 7 arranged as shown in Fig. 2 in a case 1 screwing on the end of the motor-casing 2. In a modification a flashlamp battery is arranged on one or both sides of the motor 2 in a common casing. The handle has a switch at its base or side. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the guardplate 3 is carried on a sleeve 10 which is removably slipped over the motorcasing 2 and has an inpressed yielding tongue to grip it frictionally. The blade 5 is located by projections 21 on a carrier-plate 4 which moves with it and is guided in a channel 15 in the guard 3 by engagement of projections depending from it into rectangular openings 16 in the guard. Reciprocation of the carrier-plate 4 is effected bya three-sided cam 19 on the end of the motorshaft which projects through the guard to engage a parallel-sided central opening 17 in the carrier-plate. A cover-plate 6 has spring- clips 25 which clip over the ends of the guard.
