Class 131 [Also in Group XXXVI] An electric dry shaver comprises a cutting head 2 and, within the casing, a direct current electric motor 5, driving the rotating cutting member 3, and a battery 7 for operating the motor, the shaver being provided with terminals so that a circuit within the casing and including components for rectifying and limiting the current can be connected to an external electric power source to recharge the battery. The terminals comprise plug pins 10 to which a rectifier 8, condenser 12 and choke 9 are connected the plug pins and cutting head 10 being protected by removable covers 4, 11. In a modification (Fig. 2), in which the cutting member is driven by gearing round plug pins 17, 18 are slid out of the casing on a slide 24 and moved by a button 25 guided in a slot 32 and lockable in notches 33. At positions E and A switch 23 on the slide 24 is operated to start and stop the motor respectively and at positions L1, L11 the plug pins project different distances for connection to sockets of different depths, an extension 29 being removable to expose flat pins 27, 28. In a further modification the plug pins are tiltable out of the casing the circuit of the motor being thereby interrupted so that the shaver cannot be used while the battery is being charged.
