Abstract
1,082,070. Hand-held devices. SUNBEAM CORPORATION. June 25, 1965 [July 7, 1964], No. 27066/65. Heading H2H. A hand-held rechargeable battery-driven appliance such as an electric toothbrush has a rectifier and secondary winding incorporated in its casing, the winding being inductively coupled to a primary winding in a separate housing when the battery is to be charged. The two windings may be arranged coaxially or side by side with suitable polepieces to reduce stray flux. The battery casing may form the core of the secondary winding and be part of the magnetic circuit.
