Abstract

1,112,262. Battery charging apparatus with electric cut-outs. KENT & WELLS Ltd. 10 March, 1965 [12 Dec., 1963], No. 49171/63. Headings H2G and H2H. A battery-charging apparatus comprises a casing 16, 17 in which are housed a transformer 1 and rectifier 7 and a fuse assembly 28 to protect the apparatus against excess current. A switch 5 is provided to enable 6 or 12-volt operation and a second switch 13 is used to reduce the charging current when necessary. If required, an ammeter 10 may be provided. The fuse assembly comprises a fuse 11 in a housing 28, an ejector spring 25 forming a contact at one end of the fuse whilst the other end of the fuse 11 is held in a contact cap 26 connected to a screwed cap 30 by a spring 27, thus enabling the fuse to be withdrawn by unscrewing the cap 30.
