Abstract

Headings H2E and H2H] Apparatus comprising a battery 2 which is rechargeable from an ordinary house supply by way of a rectifier 3 and a voltage reducing arrangement including resistors 4, 5 and a capacitor 6, is provided with a plug device having pins 10 carried by a bridge 11, the bridge 11 carrying a conductive member which cooperates with contacts 17, 18 to form a switch 8 (Fig. 3). The plug device is retractable into the case 1 against the action of a spring 13, the device being locked in either its retracted position or its extended position by a locking member 14 which is held in its locking position by a spring 16 and is released by means of a push-button 15. When in use contacts 7, 20 form the terminals of the device and when the plug device is in its extended position for recharging the cell 2 the plugs 10 are in contact with contacts 21, 22.
