889,603. Battery changing systems. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. Dec. 5, 1958 [May 2, 1958], No. 39301/58. Class 38 (4). In an apparatus for changing rechargeable batteries wherein the battery is inserted into the housing of the apparatus for changing, correct polarity of the battery is assured by a duplicate arrangement of contacts. A battery 19 has its positive contact surface partially covered by an annular insulating disc 22 and its negative contact surface partially covered by an insulating disc 21. The positive and negative connections 13-15 to the charging circuit are arranged as shown, so that whichever way the battery is connected, the polarity is correct.
