An alkaline battery for a lamp, particularly a miner's cap lamp, is mounted within a supporting belt and consists of gas-light cells parallel-connected into groups with the groups connected in series. As shown in Fig. 1, the cells z are placed on a supporting belt g of synthetic material and embedded in it by spraying with synthetic material. Fig. 3 shows the cross-section of a cell consisting of a casing b, a central positive electrode m and a concentric split negative electrode n.
