Abstract

1317421 Testing electric fuses L HERD 29 Dec 1971 [1 Jan 1971] 44/71 Heading G1U A fuse tester-cum-torch has a construction generally similar to a conventional hand battery torch except that the end of the casing 1 remote from the bulb 2 is closed by a cap 12 formed with a recess 13 into which a cartridge fuse 16 to be tested may be placed to complete the electrical circuit. The recess accommodates a spring 15 which urges the fuse against the battery 6 and the battery against the bulb 2. The cap may have a removable plug 14 to allow insertion of the fuse and/or may itself be removable as a whole. In a modification the cap has the outline shown at 17 and the spare space in the end of the device is used to accommodate spare fuse. Interchangeable caps for accommodating different sized fuses or for using the device as an ordinary torch may be provided.
