Abstract

637,432. Fuse bases. PARMITER, HOPE, & SUGDEN, Ltd. Aug. 4, 1944, No. 14886. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse box adapted to enclose a fuse of the cartridge type is provided with a base having a pair of contacts, each of which comprises a rigid contact member and a resilient member adapted to grip between them a contact on the fuse carrier which may be an end cap of the fuse cartridge. The carrier may be of the kind described in Specification 637,431. As shown in end view in the Figure, the base 10 is of box form and is provided in its interior with a pair of contacts each consisting of a rigid L-shaped member 14 and a spring member 17 also of L-shape. The member 14 stands on the arm 18 of the member 17 and the two members are secured together and to the base 10 by a screw 19. The cartridge fuse is supported by the carrier 11 and when this is placed in position on the base the end caps 21 of the cartridge snap into position between the members 14, 17. The face of the member 14 that makes contact with the cartridge may-be of cylindrical shape. A cable may be secured in a hole 15 in the member 14 by a screw 16.
