Abstract

1347302 Shaft couplings BLACK & DECKER MFG CO 18 Aug 1971 [21 Aug 1970] 38758/71 Heading F2 [Also in Division A1] A shaft (e.g. of an electric motor) is connected to a driven member 12 (e.g. a rotary blade for trimming grass strips adjacent bushes &c.) by spring clips (13), Fig. 1 (not shown) connected to (e.g. integral with) the member 12 engaging to form a slip coupling, an annular groove 19 in a generally cylindrical body 14 of insulating material connected to the shaft (e.g. by a bore in the body being pushed on to knurling on the shaft). The body 14 may include fan blades 18 for cooling the motor. The motor and cutter block may be mounted in a housing (10) connected by a handle (9) to a grip (8) with a switch (7) for the motor.
