Abstract

1,120,728. Hedge cutters. WOLF-GERATE G.m.b.H. 28 June, 1966 [5 July, 1965; 18 Feb., 1966], No. 28996/66. Heading A1E. A hedge cutter driven by an electric motor has a hand grip 28 or 16 arranged on each side of the motor unit 11 each grip comprising and operating a switch which when the grip is released breaks the circuit in which the switches are connected in series with each other and with the motor. The grip 28 comprises a stirrup pivoted on shaft 27 and operating switch 23 through a leaf spring 25, the grip being spring biased to the switch-opening position. Grip 16 includes a switch-operating trigger 19 spring-biased to the switch-open position. The motor shaft has a coating of insulating material, e.g. a plastics, and the motor is located in a housing of insulating material provided with air inlets in its upper part the inlets being shielded by a cap. The cutter has reciprocating blades.
