Abstract
1356824 Dry shavers BRAUN AG 7 Sept 1971 [14 Sept 1970] 41729/71 Heading B4B An electric dry shaver includes inner and outer cutters held in mutual engagement by a spring pressure exceeding 4 Kg./cm.<SP>2</SP>, the outer cutter consisting of a curved foil. The pressure may be up to 20 Kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> The inner cutter may be a reciprocatory block 5 acted upon by springs 6, 60, 61, one of which 6 is adjustable by means of a lever 62 to vary the pressure. Alternatively, Fig. 3, oblique cutting discs 53 or helical cutting means, &c. on a rotary shaft may co-operate with the foil 51, springs 65 acting on end bearings 54, 55 of the shaft, while further springs 63, 64 exert a pull on the foil 51. The shaft may rotate at 2000-2500 r.p.m., and the shaver may include a hair trimmer driven through a reduction gearing by a motor for driving the inner cutter.
