Abstract

416,281. Oil-engine cylinders. JUNG, E. V., Villa Strand, Jonkoping, Sweden. March 20, 1934, No. 8755. Convention date, March 24, 1933. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii).] In a compression-ignition oil engine, having a part 7 of the combustion chamber arranged to be shut off at starting by a two-faced valve 8, this valve carries the fuel nozzle, fuel being supplied from the fuel pump through a pipe connected to a socket 22 and an axial passage 21. The valve 8 is operated, (a) by a screw and nut 14 as shown, or (b) by an eccentric on a transverse shaft. In the intermediate position of the valve, an annular clearance space 26 vents the combustion chamber. The body of the valve 8 may be formed as a hollow cone with the fuel nozzle near the apex.
