Abstract

412,781. Connecting-rods. VITALBA, L., 15, Via Goito, Turin, Italy. July 26, 1933, No. 21060. [Class 122 (i).] To vary the compressionratio of an internal-combustion engine while running, on eccentric bush 15, arranged between the gudgeon pin 17 and the piston, has means by which it can be rotated when the piston is near the bottom of its stroke. These means comprise stops which engage with corresponding stops on discs 18 rotatable, in the cylinder or crank-case, by hand or barometric control. In a multicylinder engine, all the discs 18 are geared together to rotate in unison.
