Abstract
411,797. Steam turbines. AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROMS ANGTURBIN, 32, Kungsgatan, Stockholm. Feb. 22, 1934, No. 5875. Convention date, Feb. 23, 1933. [Class 110 (iii).] The reverse turbine of a turbine locomotive drives through a higher reduction gear than the forward turbine. The forward turbine (not shown) directly drives, through an elastic disc coupling 42, a shaft 46, with a pinion sleeve 49 secured thereon meshing with gear wheels 51 on the main operating shaft of the locomotive. The reverse turbine 29 has a pinion 33 meshing with a gear wheel 34 the hub 37 of which is hollow to permit the passage of the shaft 46. The gear wheel 34 can be clutched to the shaft 46 by a claw coupling member 38, slidable into engagement with the cooperating member 39 on the shaft 46.
