Abstract

461,904. Speed-varying mechanism. FOTTINGER, H. Aug. 30, 1935, No. 24329. Convention date, April 30. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] A mechanical gear A is connected to the primary or pump part 19 of an hydraulic transmitter B so as to drive that part at greater speed relatively to an input shaft 1, and connected to the output shaft 23 of the transmitter is a step-down planetary changespeed gear C. In the arrangement shown, the transmitter B is a converter with a fixed vane member 22, and the gear A divides the power and is of step-up character in that it accelerates the pump element 19. The transmitter B may be a coupling, in which case the gear A is of simple step-up character. The transmitter B may be of combined character.
