407,411. Inductances. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitats-Ges. ; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) Sept. 26, 1932, No. 26703. Convention date, Sept. 25, 1931. [Class 37.] An auto-connected reactance with two windings S1, S2 on a fixed core K1, and a displaceable core K2, for on-load tap-changing in transformers, is provided with a cathode winding S3 on the displaceable core, the winding S3 being connected to the same voltage as the windings S1, S2. The winding S3 may have the same number of turns as the windings S1, S2, or it may have an increased number of turns, in which case compensation is provided by differential windings G1, G2, Fig. 7, connected in series with the windings S1, S2 respectively, the winding G2 being magnetically coupled with the winding S1, and G1 with S2. In another construction short-circuit windings or rings are provided on the displaceable core on each side of the control windings.
