Abstract
514,972. Transformers, HINKSMAN, E. A., and GOLD, W. G. May 19, 1938, No. 15012. [Class 38 (ii)] A regulable transformer comprises a three limbed core 10 on which is mounted primary and secondary windings 7 and 14, one set of the windings being axially movable. As shown, the secondary windings 14 are attached to a plate 15 and are moved by means of a screw 18 operated from a handwheel 28. The cores are provided with magnetic members 8 and, if desired, additional members arranged adjacent to these and between the windings may be provided. The secondary windings may be connected to the primary windings to give either a buck or boost effect and the primary winding may be tapped. If desired the primary windings may be arranged external to the secondary windings.
