Abstract
406,582. Mould materials. ARMSTRONG CORK CO., Lancaster, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Emanuel, E. C.; 814, Race Avenue, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) Aug. 14, 1933, No. 22689. Convention date, Dec. 1, 1932. [Class 83 (i).] Moulds are coated with finely comminuted cork, redwood bark, or like resin-bearing woody material. Dry cork may be applied by an air gun but preferably one volume of cork is mixed with two volumes of water before spraying. The water may contain about 3 per cent of concentrated ammonia solution or to 10 c.c. of cork may be added 6 grams of casein, 3 of lime, 2 of sodium phosphate and 1 of sodium sulphite or ammonium carbonate. The moulds are heated before or after coating to carbonize the cork.
