Abstract

406,003. High tension switches ; preventing sparking in switches. MARX, E., 3, Rankestrasse, Brunswick, Germany. May 12, 1932, No. 13731. Convention date, May 12, 1931. [Class 38 (v).] A circuit breaker comprises two main hollow cylindrical electrodes A, D arranged in a chamber to which is supplied a stream of arcquenching gas which passes between the electrodes and through their hollow interiors to exit pipes. A movable annular electrode B is provided for conductively coupling the main electrodes and the arc produced when it is withdrawn is forced towards the axis of the electrodes and is there spread and extinguished.
