Abstract
405,991. Loud-speakers. WHITELEY, A. H., Radio Works, Victoria Street, Mansfield, Nottingham. Aug. 12, 1932, No. 22630. [Class 40 (iv).] Relates to a permanent magnet structure of the M, claw or bar type for a moving- coil loud-speaker and consists in making the central cylindrical pole piece of higher retentivity than the remainder of the magnetic circuit. As shown, the structure comprises a U -shaped member 1 bent from a bar of soft iron across the ends of which is secured a soft iron outer pole-piece 2. The cylindrical centre pole 3 of permanently and highly magnetized material is secured at one end by a bolt 5 to the member 1, its reduced opposite end projecting into an aperture 6 in the plate 2.
