Abstract
1,144,575. Sound transducing devices. INDIAN TELEPHONE INDUSTRIES Ltd. 19 April, 1966, No. 17065/66. Heading H4J. An electromagnetic receiver or other transducer (Fig. 2) comprises two polepieces 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, preferably L-shaped, having a permanent magnet 2 at one end and terminating at their other ends in an air gap 7, 7<SP>1</SP>. At least one coil 8 is provided. An armature 18 (Fig. 3) is pivotally mounted by torsion arms 4, 4<SP>1</SP> and one end passes through the air gap 7, 7<SP>1</SP>. Its other end has arms 5, 5<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>1</SP> bent over to face portions of the polepieces 1, 1<SP>1</SP> and thereby provide a low reluctance path for A.C. flux. If a single coil 8 is used the armature 18 passes through a central rectangular aperture 17 of the coil 8. Alternatively two coils are provided (not shown), connected in series aiding relationship, one around each polepiece. The armature 18 has an extension 11 connected by a pin 12 to a diaphragm 13 mounted on a base 9.
