Abstract

1,031,131. Electromagnetic relays. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. April 9, 1964 [April 11, 1963]. No. 14615/64. Heading H2B. A balanced armature 5 pivoted within a coil 2 co-operates with diametrically opposed polepieces 3a, 4a extending from the ends of the coil. Wedge-shaped air-gaps 6a, 6b are formed between the respective polepiece and opposite ends of the armature. The polepieces are formed as extensions to magnetic end-plates 4, 5. The magnetic circuit is completed by a magnetic screen 7. Sticking is prevented by a non- magnetic stop 5b on the armature. An extension 5c at one end of the armature projects through an aperture 3b formed in end-plate 3 to operate a contact spring-set. The armature is biased to the position shown by a torsion spring.
