Abstract

404,946. Field-tube heat-exchangers. JENKINS & CO., Ltd., R., Masborough Boiler Works, Rotherham, and HEASTIE, B., 4, Girdlers Road, West Kensington, London. July 23, 1932, No. 20833. [Class 64 (iii).] In a heat exchanger having a body 2 formed with a number of cylindrical passages 4 in which a liquid flowing through the passages in series is heated by steam or other hot medium flowing through Field tubes 9, the cylindrical passages communicate with one another at one end through passages 6 in a detachable cover plate 3. The cylindrical passages communicate with one another at the other end through passages 5. The outer elements of the Field tubes are clamped to a tube plate 10 by collars 13 and bolts 15, the tube plate being secured between the body 2 and the header 16 by screwed studs and nuts 12. The inner elements of the Field tubes are secured in a plate 17 dividing the header into inlet and outlet compartments.
