Abstract
404,077. Concentric or jacketed tubular heat - exchangers. WHESSOE FOUNDRY & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., Darlington, and GRANT, A. G., 86, Coniscliffe Road, Darlington. Aug. 29, 1932, No. 24090. [Class 64 (iii).] Apparatus, e.g. for cooling oil by means of water &c., comprises a series of removable concentric tubes a, b connected to headers cl, h<1> having compartments provided with inlet and outlet ports for the liquids. The tubes a are formed with helical ribs which fit the tubes b. The water flows in series through the inner tubes, while the oil passes through the helical passages between the tubes.
