433,343. Straight-tube heat-exchangers. THOMAS, T. G., 63, Pencisely Road, Cardiff. July 10, 1934, No. 20193. [Class 64 (iii)] In a heat-exchanger, such as a steamheated feedwater heater, comprising tubes 2 between header chambers 5, 6, each tube is provided with a baffle consisting of a rod or tube 10 joggled or formed with successive straight off-set portions so set around the inside of a tube 2 as to give the water or other fluid a helical flow. The sliding header plate 4 is shouldered to receive packing 14, which is secured by a flange on a gland ring 12.
