533,858. Tubular heat exchangers; steam superheaters. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd., and ROBINSON, E. A. Dec. 5, 1939, No. 3:509. [Classes 64 (iii) and 123 (iii)] The inlet header 1 of a superheater or other heat exchanger is provided with a tube 6 having apertures 10 through which the steam or other fluid flows into the header, the apertures being graded in size or spaced according to the required flow in the respective heating elements 5. In a superheater, the apertures are relatively large or are more closely spaced near the inlet. The diameter of the tube may increase form its inlet to its closed end.
