Abstract
477,239. Plate heatexchangers. TODD COMBUSTION EQUIPMENT, Inc. Feb. 15, 1937, No. 4440. Convention date, Feb. 15, 1936. [Class 64 (iii)] A heat-exchanger particularly for heating oil fuel comprises a casing having tangential oil &c. inlet and outlet ports 21, 22 respectively and through which extends a stream &c. pipe 3 upon which are threaded spirally-ribbed sleeves aligned by means of dowel pins 17 to form a continuous spiral. The sleeves are clamped together by means of plain end sleeves 5, 11 and the casing cap 7. The sleeves are formed with additional fins 16 to promote the heat exchange. In a modification, the fins 16 are omitted.
