538,391. Plate heat exchangers. JOHANSSON, E. H. March 21, 1940, No. 5319. [Class 64 (iii)] Wave-shaped metal sheets 2 are arranged in a casing 17 with the folds of one sheet between the folds of the other and with the ends of the folds closed 'to form trough-like chambers 3, 5 which open at their upper and lower portions into inlets and outlets 12, 13 for a fluid to be heated or cooled. The other fluid flows between the chambers from an inlet branch 14 to an outlet branch 15 on the casing.
