Convention date, March 2, 1929. Void [Published under Sect, 91 of the Acts]. Divided on 356,656. [Class 64 (iii).] In a heat exchanger, more particularly a waterheater or condenser, of the kind in which water or other fluid is circulated through hollow elements within a casing into which steam or other heating or cooling medium is passed, as described in Specification 356,656, each of the heating elements is formed with baffles 52 directing the fluid in a sinuous course through the element. The baffles are formed by welding the side plates of the elements together at spaced parts. Slots 54 made in the welded parts serve to remove impurities from the heating steam passing around and through the elements.
