Abstract

401,112. Plate heat - exchangers. HARRISON RADIATOR CORPORATION, Lockport, New York, U.S.A. Nov. 10, 1932, No. 31837. Convention date, April 6, 1932. [Class 64 (iii).] A radiator comprises pairs of strips A forming water passages and provided with straight transverse seating portionsforstrips B which space them apart to form air passages, the water passages bemg provided with rows of small rounded protuberonces 9 between the seating ridges. The strips B are provided with projections 12 to produce turbulence in the air flow. The marginal portions 5 of strips A are simply corrugated and can be soldered together to close the water spaces. The ridges 7 are flattened between the marginal portions to allow water to pass vertically through the apparatus. Projections 13 are provided on the strips A to prevent the collapse of the water passages.
