448,815. Straight-tube heat-exchangers. MODINE, A. B., 17th Street, Racine, Wisconsin, U.S.A. June 4, 1935, No. 16208. [Class 64 (iii)] In a radiator core comprising rows of tubes between headers, the number of tubes in a row increases as one passes from front to rear of the radiator in the direction of the air flow as shown in Fig. 2. The tubes may be finned and the number of fins on a tube may increase from the front row to the rear row. The fins may be provided with corrugations that decrease in depth from the front to the rear of the radiator. The radiator tubes may be of flattened cross-section.
