Abstract

1,210,185. Tubular heat exchangers. ADOLPH SAURER Ltd. 20 May, 1969 [25 June, 1968], No. 25575/69. Heading F4S. Tubes 7 of narrow elongate cross-section are disposed in annular rows around the impeller 1 of a radial-flow air blower with the major axis of each tube extending approximately parallel to the direction a of air flow over said tube. The tubes extend between headers 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 which interconnect the annular rows for a series flow of fluid therethrough from an inlet distribution box 9 to an outlet box 14. The tubes have transverse fins 17. In use, a relatively hot fluid flows through the tubes in heat exchange with the air blown over the tubes by the impeller.
