Abstract

1,218,635. Tubular heat exchangers. SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON. 16 April, 1968 [14 April, 1967], No. 17868/68. Heading F4S. A fin plate 10 which is in heat-conducting relation with a plurality of tubes 13, is formed with rows 14, 15, 16 of corrugations, the corrugations in adjacent rows being relatively staggered and the fin material being slit along the line separating adjacent rows so that the individual corrugations present only an edge to the stream f 1 of air passing over the fin. In the form shown the tubes extend through flanged apertures 11 in the fin plate material. In a further form (Fig. 5) the bends of a sinuous fin are attached to opposed tubes of a pair and the corrugations are formed in that portion of the fin material between the tubes.
