Abstract
797,492. Tubular heat exchangers. HUET, A. Feb. 20, 1957 [Feb. 21, 1956]. No. 5807/57. Class 64(3) A heat exchanger comprises a coiled tube b alternate turns, e.g. 1, 3, 5 of which are provided with longitudinal fins. The fins may extend from one side only of each turn of the coil with the fins on adjacent finned turns of the coil extending either in the same direction or in opposite directions. Alternately fins may extend from both sides of each finned turn of the coil, such fins d1, d2 in the form shown being so arranged as to deflect liquid flowing over them towards unfinned portions of the coil. A plain tube g may extend through the finned tube.
