Classes 64(2) and 64(3) In a heat exchanger comprising a wall b separating two ducts for fluids at different temperatures, the wall has wide undulations forming channels opening alterately into the ducts, and Perkins tubes a or a' pass through the wall so that a part of each tube lies in each duct. The undulations form teeth t, and the tubes a may extend through one tooth, as shown, or through two or more teeth. They may be curved, and their ends may abut to stiffen the wall b. The tubes may be horizontal, vertical, or oblique, and may have transverse or longitudinal fins, which may be tangential.
