Abstract
598,917. Tubular heat-exchange apparatus. SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON. April 25, 1945, No. 10431. Convention date, April 14, 1944. [Class 64 (iii)] In a heat-exchanger of the honeycomb type, the tubes 6 are made in one piece with at least one integral inner partition 8. The cross section of the partition may decrease from the wall of the tube towards the centre and the ends of the tubes are flared by means of a punch, slotted to fit the partitions, and a die, and welded, brazed &c. together, the partitions being cut out of the ends to facilitate flaring (Fig. 4). The tubes may be roughened to cause eddying of the flowing fluids.
