Abstract

462,930. Electric water - heaters. GEE, W. C., MERCER, W. E., and TULLEY, E. E. March 7, 1936, No. 6888. [Class 39 (iii)] In electric immersion heaters of the kind described in Specification 439,601, the thickness of the flowing film of water between the pipes 11-14 and the heating-element 21 is not greater than <18>/64 of an inch ; and the crosssectional area of the film is not less than <1>/10 of a square inch. The pipes are coupled in series by unions 18 to provide access to the heating-element. Baffles are provided at the inlet and outlet ends of the tank, to prevent the hot water, after circulation through the heater, from mixing with the cooler water in the tank.
