293,500. Carnegie, J. C. April 14, 1927. Heating by electricity.-A storage tank 5 having inlet and outlet connections whereby it is kept completely full contains a heating chamber 6 open at its ends to the lower and upper regions of the tank respectively, an immersion heater 14 being inserted through the wall of the tank into the lower end of the heating chamber. The heating chamber may comprise a number of bell mouthed tubes converging into a, common outlet, each tube containing a heater. The outlet from the heating chamber may be adjacent to the outlet 7 from the tank. A branch 16 assists in producing circulation.
